It's time to start planning your big day woohoo! Wedding planning is SUCH a fun part of your journey. It can see a little overwhelming for some when thinking about where to begin if you haven't actually planned an event before or maybe you haven't even been to a wedding. Well, fear not we spoke to our wonderful friend and recommended wedding supplier Lorna Marie Events who is a local expert wedding planner in Essex who has the most amazing attention to detail. Over the last year we have worked with Lorna on styled shoots so that we can share images with couples inspiration on their day.

So we asked Lorna, what are your top tips for couples who are starting their wedding planning journey? And here they are!

Put time aside for you and your partner to sit down and lay all your cards on the table. Discuss what means the most to you to have at your wedding; create a list each and compare to see what fits in that ‘must have’ category for your wedding planning.

Reach out

Your chosen suppliers are almost as excited as you are about your wedding, don’t be afraid to message them about some ideas you’ve had for your wedding. Perhaps you want to pick their brain on a product/service they offer to find out more on how/if it’d work in your own wedding plans and let me tell you they’d love to hear from you.

Be mindful of budget

If you have a number in mind that you’d like to keep to when planning all the elements of your wedding, don’t be afraid to talk about money but also don’t let it rule your planning experience. With the right suppliers on board, you’ll be able to make your wedding day as special as you imagined it.

And finally don’t get toooo invested in Pinterest

It’s an invaluable app to have when planning a wedding as it gives you so many ideas on how you can get creative or find things that you want to incorporate into your special day, but Pinterest images come from all over the world and after all, no wedding is ever the same!

Some perfect tips to think about and remember your wedding is about you both celebrating your love. Get excited and enjoy every single moment. It such a fun part of your journey.
